The New Album
Hope you are enjoying what the beginning of 2010 has to offer! We have been working hard behind the scenes to get the 2nd album sounding awesome and thought we would let you know what we have been getting up to and some of the people that we have been working with! We have been in the studio recording with Topham & Twigg who have penned and produced tracks for loads of our favourite pop bands like Westlife, Steps and Backstreet Boys. You can hear a snippet of one of the tracks by them on our music page (Souled Out). These days are always soo funny as the guys are hilarious! We have many hours of random jokes and playing 'for a million!'. We do get some work done too though! Hehe! We have also been working with the amazing Pete Hammond who has worked with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Alphabeat and Bananarama, This has been so exciting for us as he is a pop legend and has created a really great sound that we think you will all love! We are looking forward to you being able to hear them very soon! Also we have been doing a lot of songwriting with various people! We have really enjoyed this and have come up with some cool tunes! We have written songs with some amazing songwriters including Georgie Dennis, Mark Read (I (Sarah) used to love him in the band A1 so spent the whole of the morning a little starstruck! Lol!), Marc Rapson and Nathan Thomas (Bodyrox) and Aerostorm (Dannii Minogue)! We love to be creative and the songwriting days always end up very loooong as we like to make sure that everything is perfect and we always come up with better ideas when we are about to leave! Lol! We hope that you like these ones as much as you liked 'If U Can't Dance'! Also, as a lot of you liked the Swedish sounding tracks from our first album we have been working with some lovely Scandinavian writers too! We have recorded tracks by Tony Nilsson (who works with all the biggest pop names in Sweden like Darin, Alcazar, Ola, Elin Lanto & Velvet) and Hanne Sørvaag (who wrote Better Love Me & All The Roads Lead To Heaven from the 'Pop!' album and has also worked with Katharine McPhee) and we think you will really like them! So we have been working very very hard and we hope that it all pays off and you love the album! We will be posting some new confirmed gig dates up very shortly so keep checking back and we look forward to seeing all of you at some point in the coming months! Much love |
Sean's 2009 round up...
2009 has been another great year and as it draws to a close I would like to look back and tell u guys about some of the high points and all the things that we’ve been getting up to. Seeing our album (POP!) on the shelves was an unbelievable feeling, it was always a childhood dream of mine and I couldn’t believe that it had finally come true. When we found out that it had achieved Gold status in January it was an incredible feeling. It was a shame that it never reached the chart position that it deserved but we were up against some big guns last Xmas, so the fact that it went Gold was a great achievement for us. I’d just like to say a huge thank you to those of you who bought it. It still baffles me to think that people at home can play our records. As always, we have been travelling all over Great Britain doing live performances. We always have so much fun on the road and special thanks have to go to Jamie for keeping us in shape over the past year. I’d like to also say a huge thank you to all of our amazing fans that have travelled for miles to come and watch us. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves, I know we did. In May we went on tour with our good mate Leon Jackson and we had a brilliant time. The cast and crew were a pleasure to work with and we had such a laugh on the road. I especially loved our team of dancers, they were so much fun to be around. We enjoyed many nights out after the shows. Once again I’d like to give huge thanks to all of those who came to support us on tour, especially those who travelled to our home town of Portsmouth for our one-off pop party. It was one of my favourite days ever. Doing TV appearances is always fun. One of the most surreal experiences of the year was when we shot Gilbert’s Special Report for the TNT show. It was weird at the time but it was such a laugh watching it back. Acting as ‘Eric’ for Danni’s House was also a highlight along with the Noughties Countdown, where we talked about everything from the past decade. After signing with new management we got some great news about our new record deal. That will mean that you guys can enjoy some brand new tunes from us in the New Year. We have been back in the studio with some of the world’s best writers and producers and the new stuff is sounding incredible, we can’t wait for you to hear it. We will also be taking ‘POP’ overseas so we can become an international act, how exciting! Huge thanks have to go to Wayne at Mighty Music Management for securing our deals, and for believing in us. I have a feeling that 2010 will be a special year. The photo shoot for our new look was a day and a half, I felt wicked posing and acting like a stud for the camera and we now have a cool new image ready to go with our cool new music. Thanks to Joby, Adam, Keely, Rochelle and Carly. We Love it. This year I bought my first home of my own and also one to rent to other people so all of a sudden I feel like I’m growing up, It’s crazy. I think I’ll always be a big kid at heart though! Christmas time in 2009 has been awesome. We have enjoyed doing the usual festive light switch ons and going to Lapland was an experience I will never forget, although I did get my tongue stuck to some ice! (Check out the picture. Hehe!) I really hope that you all like the new look website. Keep an eye out for more cool stuff that will be added to the site very soon. Also cheers for following us on our social networking sites. I’d like to give massive thanks to Jack and James for their smart designs. Lastly… Thanks to all of you guys for your ongoing support… I love each and every one of you… We hope to make you all proud of us next year. Well… that concludes a smashing 2009. I want to wish you all health, wealth and happiness for 2010 and have a wicked time on NYE. Sean xxx Sarah’s Special Year Round Up…
Starting back in January when we found out that our album went Gold… that was probably one of the biggest highlights! I was over the moon and really proud of everything that we had achieved! I just want to say a massive Thank You to everyone who bought 'POP', it really means the world to me. We have done a lot of TV shows this year but my favourite was probably 'Danni's House' as it was a really funny script and all of the cast and crew were so lovely! Plus "Eric and Erica" were hilarious to play! We have done hundreds of gigs this year and have enjoyed every single one! It still amazes me how crazy some of the crowds have been and all of the support you have given us! We ended up doing many 3 hour signings after shows and had our car chased by fans on more than one occasion! Its moments like those that I will remember forever! In May we did our joint headline tour with Leon, which was a great experience! We had the most incredible team of dancers with us and we became like one big tour family. Some of the funniest times were on tour: from pretending to be a fish onstage to our backstage shenanigans! I loved every minute! In July we joined 'Mighty Music Management' and began conjuring up our next plan of action! We suddenly were back in the studio recording with some of the world’s best producers and writing with some of the best in the buisness! I can't wait for you all to hear the new album in mid/late 2010, it is sounding soo good (if I do say so myself!) and I hope that you all love it! We had such an exciting summer and then October brought even more great times! We got a BRAND NEW RECORD DEAL! We signed to Poplife Records and continued working on the album. Along with that came a brand new look (thanks to Joby, Adam and Keely from Bellisimo for giving us the full makeover!) and a new look website. The photoshoot was a wicked day and it was so weird to be out of my usual puffy dresses and to be mean and moody! Lol! It was weird seeing myself not smiling (and my mum freaked out a bit! Hehe) but we loved how the photos turned out! We also did loads of TV, radio and magazine interviews (shout out to Christian at OK, Jen at Heat and the whole team at the News for their support). Also this has been a big year for personal goals! I managed to pass my driving test 2nd time round (and I will let you into a little secret... I crashed on my first one! Lol!). I have to say a massive thanks to Patrick at 1st Central for putting up with my terrible driving in the first few months and for dealing with my pre-test nerves! I seriously was more nervous for my driving test than I was the X Factor final! Weird! I also turned 21 this year and became a fully fledged adult! To be honest, I don't think I will ever fully grow up but after many celebratory nights out with friends and family I can safely say that I had fun trying! Lol! I also bought my first home this year... Woah that is a big step! Ha! I never knew that shopping for a sofa, TV and bed could be so stressful! I definitely have so much more respect for my mum and dad now, as I never realised how much work needs to be done in a house! I thought the house fairies did it all! Hehe! Xmas was great fun but very very busy. Two of the highlights of my Xmas were going to Lapland and my Auntie’s 60th wedding anniversary party on Xmas Eve... It amazes me that 2 people have spent 60 years of their lives together! What an achievement! For Xmas I got very practical presents from Santa... A washing machine, microwave, pots and pans, a toaster, a George Forman grill... I could go on all day telling you my home appliances! Lol! So that was my year! Loads of fun, hard work and special times! Before I go, I just want to say a few thanks to people that have been a massive part of my year and as we didn't get an album out this year I can't do it in my thank yous there! Lol! Firstly, all of my family who have put up with me and my ever growing wardrobe this year (at one point it even spilled over to the living room!). A huge thanks to Jamie for sorting our lives out and taking us here there and everywhere! Thank you to Wayne for believing in us and making all of the exciting things happen and to Craig and all at PopLife for everything! Also thanks to Jack and James for sorting out our websites and social networking sites! Lastly a massive thank you to all of you who have supported us this year and to all of those who came to our gigs. We wouldn't be able to continue without you! Thanks to our network of superfans for keeping the Same Difference name out there and for being the best! I love you all! Well, all that's left to say is Happy New Year and I hope that 2010 is the best yet (I feel like I have just given my Queens Speech!! Hehe!) See you in the new year! Lots of love Sarah xxx Lapland, gigs, Santa and more!
Hope that you are all enjoying the website! Thought we would check in to let you know what we have been up to this week! It has been a really manic one and we have been here, there and everywhere. On Monday we had a gig in london for Orange (the mobile phone company..not the fruit!). We performed a gig set and then stayed after to mingle and play some sing star! I (Sarah) would like to add that on the final song (a good ole bit of kylie and Jason) we split off into 2 teams (team Sarah and team Sean) and I won! I know what I will be asking Santa for this year! Lol! On Wednesday we travelled to stansted airport ready to be up at 4am the next day to catch a flight to Lapland! We were so lucky to be invited by the 'Family Holiday Association' charity to accompany 100 familys to Santa's hometown. We performed for the families at the hotel and made sure that everyone was excited the night before and the next day headed to Finland! The children were buzzing and couldn't wait to get on the plane as for some of them it was their first time! Lapland was so awesome! We had a huge snowball fight, went on toboggans, built snowmen, had reindeer rides and went on snowmobiles. I (sean) was so annoyed to be stuck behind Sarah on the snowmobile going about 2mph whilst everyone else sped off! Grr! Next time I will take the lead! Ha! Also I managed to get my tongue stuck on some ice in true dumb and dumber style (picture to follow!). How embarissing! It was such a fun day and we met some really incredible people so we want to say a massive thank you to Thomson Airways and First Choice for giving us and the children such a magical experience. On friday we went to the sky studios to film 'live from studio 5'. This has to be one of our favourite interveiws to do as it is so relaxed and Ian, Melinda and Kate are all so lovely! We were there to talk about the Xfactor finals and we went out to the streets to find out who the general public want to win! It was hilarious chasing people down the road with our camera and we met some real characters on our way! Pure comedy value! Phew... That was our manic week in a nutshell! Next week is going to be just as busy but we have to fit all of our xmas shopping in at some point! All that's left to say is enjoy your last week at work/school before xmas and we shall blog again soon! Love love love Sarah and Sean Latest from Sarah...
Welcome to our brand new website! Hope that all of you lovely people are well and looking forward to Christmas! Firstly I would like to make an apology for being so lame on updating our old look website and for it taking so long to get this brand new website up and running but now it is, WOW it's gonna be good! Hehe! Lots has happened in our lives these past few months so I am going to tell you a few of the most important bits. Firstly we have a brand new manager looking after us so please don't send any fan mail to the old address any more as we won't receive it (and I will be sad). Secondly (and this is the big one!) we have SIGNED A BRAND NEW RECORD DEAL! Wooohoo! This means that we will have new music out soon (late next year!) and that we are back in the studio writing and recording! Thirdly... We will be taking our first album internationally next year too! So all of you gorgeous people from far away get ready to POP! We are still gigging like crazy and you can check if we are going to be in your area by looking on our events page (we promise to keep it updated this time). In the meantime have fun exploring our new site and I will look forward to hearing your thoughts on our new look! Lots of love, Sarah xx |
Hey all!
Hey Hey…
2009 has been a crazy year full of the highest highs and a few lows but overall I have had a fantastic year! I just thought that I would give you a little round up of all of the great things that happened this year!
